Plot Summary:The true story of Furcy, a slave in a French colony who was able to achieve legal emancipation prior to the definitive abolition of slavery.
Adapted by the director, alongside Étienne Comar and Mohammed Aïssaoui, from the latter’s book L'Affaire de l'esclave Furcy, the movie will chart the legal battle of a slave from Reunion Island who tries to recover his freedom in the first half of the 19th century.
